About me

I am an Assistant Professor at Tampere University where I co-lead the Computer Vision Group. In addition, I am a Co-Founder and Technical Advisor of IndoorAtlas Ltd., where I have previously acted as a CTO for several years.

Previously, I have been an acting professor at the Machine Vision Group in the University of Oulu, visiting researcher with Visual Geometry Group at the University of Oxford (2009, 2011-2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018), and vising PhD student (2004) with Computer Vision Group at the University of Freiburg.


I have a broad interest in different computer vision, and machine learning problems. Typical application areas are, for example, instance detection and segmentation, audio-visual learning, 3D geometric vision, visual-inertial odometry, and machine learning based image generation and manipulation.
